Charles "C Jeezy" Adams

From TV/video producer to music producer CJ has been in and around the entertainment scene for over 20 years. Leaving San Diego, California in 1987 after serving 7 years in the US Navy as an aircraft electronics technician, CJ moved to the Midwest making St Louis, Missouri his home.

CJ earned an Executive MBA from Colorado Technical University and a second Masters degree in Entertainment Business from the #1 entertainment school in this country, Full Sail University. For over 14 years CJ has been producing TV programs and music videos. So you see, with experience in television, film, and now music makes CJ a powerful force to be reckoned with.

CJ has been heavily influenced by producers like Ryan Leslie, and Polow Da Don, both of which have unique styles that are making a tremendous impact on the music game. CJ aspires to become one of the greats one day and his Open Labs NEKO XXL is definitely going to help him get there.

CJ has a love for all genres of music and tries to incorporate a little of everything into the music that he creates. He started off like most people with a PC a bunch of software and a variety of hardware. Once seeing the Open Labs NEKO XXL, he claims that he had to have one. Now his NEKO XXL is the only piece of hardware he uses for all his music production projects.

C Jeezy formed Amexem Entertainment back in 2008. This is the company that we all will be hearing great things from in the near future.

Artist Q&A:

1.) How did you first hear about Open Labs?
I was surfing YouTube and I watch a video interview with Timbaland talking about the "NEKO Timbaland edition", from that moment on I had to have one.

2.) What Production Station do you have?
     NEKO XXL

3.) How has the gear changed your method of work?
It has changed it tremendously. Everything is all in one powerful package, no compatibility issues. No more create over "here" and then copy and move over "there". It has made music creating a pleasurable evolution.

4.) What is your production station's primary function, live or studio?
I use my NEKO XXL for Studio production.

5.) What is your favorite software on the board?
I really love Reaper, GURUTM, and True Pianos and the other VST's that come bundled right out the box.

6.) How do you use it?
I use it to for everything, sequencing, editing, sampling, mix downs and mastering.

7.) Which kind of equipment have you owned in the past and how do they compare to your Open Labs equipment?
Prior to purchasing my NEKO XXL I had the Yamaha Motif® (classic), the Roland MV8000®, and a Dell® computer running Pro Tools 8®. There is no comparison, my NEKO XXL is faster, more powerful, cuts my production time down considerably and the 4 terabytes of storage space is the bomb!

8.) Has the gear changed the way you write songs?
Most definitely, I can focus more on being creative without having to worry about "is this going to work with that?" "Will these two sounds sound good together?"

9.) How different is the composition process compared to the standard computer or laptop system?
The entire composition process is seamless, a lot cleaner, and my workflow is much better now.

10.) Do you think the quality of your production now would be possible with another keyboard?
NO! There is not another keyboard out there that can claim what the Open Labs gear has claimed.

11.) Have you had any experience with our Tech Support and how does it rate with you?
Yes, I have and my experience was great. I explained my issue and they knew just what to do and it was resolved in less than 15 minutes, never seen anything like it.

12.) What is next for you and your Production Station?

To create some Grammy winning music and make Amexem Entertainment a household name. Armed with my NEKO XXL, that will become a reality in no time.
